Minimally invasive sinus augmentation

A key to implant success is the quantity and quality of the bone where the implant is to be placed. The upper back jaw has traditionally been one of the most difficult areas to successfully place dental implants due to insufficient bone quantity and quality and the close proximity to the sinus. Sinus augmentation can help correct this problem by raising the sinus floor and developing bone for the placement of dental implants. Dr. Yi has performed this augmentation procedure as gentle and painless with minimally invasive technique since 1993.

Sinus augmentation (Caldwell Luc surgery)

Missing tooth #3 with 3mm of remaining bone under sinus
Concurrent implant placement and Cald-well Luc sinus lift surgery
Panoramic view
Cross sectional view

Extremely conservative, painless sinus surgery

Smallest opening to go into sinus
Healthy and intact sinus membrane was observed.
Bone graft inside a sinus and concurrent 4 implant placement.
Final prosthesis are ready to go.

Sinus augmentation and implant placement on #14,15

Final prosthesis (previous sinus floor is shown as green line)
#13: ceramic crown
#14,15: splinted PFM crowns
All procedure was completed in 9 months

Sinus augmentation(two staged)

With 1-2mm of thin remaining bone underneath sinus
Two staged sinus graft surgery.
Entire rehabilitation was completed in 11 months.
With 1-3mm of thin remaining bone underneath sinus
One staged sinus graft surgery( the least traumatic, decreased number of surgery)
